Pleasants Law Firm Focused Probate Litigation Services
At Pleasants Law Firm we understand that family tensions can run high after the death of a loved one. This can unfortunately lead to probate litigation, and in some cases litigation has been the only way to reach a resolution. We have experience advocating in court on our client’s behalf to ensure a successful settlement.
TEDRA Petitions
TEDRA stands for Trust and Estate Dispute Resolution Act, and it provides a specific outline for dealing with disputes involving wills, estates, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship, and other fiduciary matters in the state of Washington. The Act allows you to file a petition to resolve issues that can stem from conflicts over:
- The terms or validity of a will, or competence of the individual who created the will
- A person’s status as a beneficiary or heir
- Inheritance claims if there is no will, or of surviving spouses and children left out of a will
- Claims to an estate made by creditors or other third parties
Pleasants Law Firm is very familiar with the requirements of TEDRA to make sure that your inheritance rights are protected. Whether you are the executor, trustee, power of attorney, or a beneficiary, we will fight to get you everything from your loved one that you deserve.
The process of probate litigation can be very complex. We work to find a litigation strategy, analyze any potential risks, and keep our clients updated every step of the way.
